La Roche-Posay is created as a limited liability company producing dermal products. It markets post-treatment dermatological products formulated with La Roche-Posay thermal spring water to patients treated at La Roche-Posay.

1975

Creation of LABORATOIRES PHARMACEUTIQUES LA ROCHE-POSAY by pharmacist Mr. Levayer. A specific niche is chosen, dermatological prescription, and its essential requirements: Safety – Efficacy – Simplicity

1985

Creation of the La Roche-Posay Foundation, which awards dermatological research grants.

1995

The company name becomes LA ROCHE-POSAY LABORATOIRE PHARMACEUTIQUE

1999

Consolidation of La Roche-Posay’s make-up expertise during the integration of the PHAS brand

2002

Integration of the BIOMEDIC brand, professional peeling products in the United States

2010

Promotion of our dermatological expertise through our packaging and brand logo which will progressively be signed La Roche-Posay Laboratoire Dermatologique
This change in no way modifies the company name which evokes our status as a pharmaceutical company.

1985
Launch of ANTHELIOS, first UVA protection factor on the market, for all skin types: children, adults and people with sun intolerances.

1989
On the strength of its in-depth knowledge of dry skin, La Roche-Posay launches the LIPIKAR milk. Rich in Shea butter (10%), LIPIKAR milk replenishes the skin with lipids to restore its protective barrier and therefore rebuild the skin's hydration.  The LIPIKAR range has been improved over the years to bring even more comfort to dry and very dry skin in children and adults alike.  

1993
La Roche-Posay launches HYDRAPHASE, providing intensive rehydration to dehydrated skin.  Two textures: one rich and one light, to suit all types of dehydrated skin. Launch of ANTHELIOS MEXORYL SX. Launch of the EFFACLAR purifying foaming gel, the first product in a complete range for combination or oily and sensitive skin that suffers from shine, spots and blackheads.

1994
Launch of the first product from the TOLERIANE range. For intolerant, allergic, hypersensitive skin that no longer tolerates anything. A high-tolerance programme to restore skin comfort.  

1998
Launch of ACTIVE C, a Dermatological Wrinkle Corrector that for the first time stabilises pure Vitamin C dosed at 5%. Launch of ANTHELIOS MEXORYL XL. ANTHELIOS is currently the suncare range most recommended by European dermatologists to protect the skin from UV rays and meet the needs of their patients who are prone to sun intolerances.    

2005
La Roche-Posay builds its knowledge of wrinkles through research into healing and launches REDERMIC. A fill-in anti-wrinkle firming care, REDERMIC is a unique combination of powerful molecules: pure vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Madecassoside to fill deep wrinkles and rebuild skin tissues.    

2008
La Roche-Posay launches HYDREANE, the moisturiser for sensitive skin, to hydrate the skin every day and reduce its sensitivity.    

2009
Launch of DERM AOX, LIPIKAR BAUME AP and EFFACLAR DUO.

2010
Launch of REDERMIC [ ], HYDRAPHASE INTENSE and ANTHELIOS XL MEXOPLEX®.
