There are two types of dandruff, which is the excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp. When dry, it rains down on the shoulders. When greasy, the flakes are larger and stickier. Dandruff is due to the proliferation of yeast, which causes the cellular renewal process to rapidly accelerate.
