Squalene is a naturally occurring lipid in men and women. It is the main component of sebum.
Ozone is a gaseous pollutant which affects our health and has a particular effect on the respiratory tract. Upon contact with the skin, ozone oxidises the sebum and epidermic lipids and reduce endogenous antioxidant defences, damaging the skin barrier and causing skin inflammation.
PM2.5 is microscopic particulate matter (<2.5µm) carried by the air which becomes lodged in the pores and may penetrate the skin.
